Installation, testing and commissioning of 01 number of 380 KVA Diesel Generator and power infrastructure for new Administrative Building of GAIL, Vadodara

Revamping of existing gas terminals
Team size: 7
Details: Revamping of existing Gujarat State terminals as per new petroleum rules and regulations. In this project the existing terminals will be upgraded to dual stream orifice metering system along with scrubber, condensate handling, storage and disposal facility. As per MoU with Ministry of India GAIL, Vadodara has a tarhet to complete 10 numbers of revamping project in its Gujarat terminals.

Installation of FM200 fire suppression system in control rooms and Steam heater in RLNG pipe line at GACL, Gujarat
Team size: 3
Details: Procurement, design, engineering, installation and commissioning of FM200 fire suppression system in control building of gas terminals under Gujarat State. Steam heater installation is in progress to increase the temperature of RLNG in pipe line to avoid icing and malfunction of critical instruments/equipments.
Project cost: Rs. 1,80,91,000.00

In-house repairing of 90 kA DC isolator
Team size: 8
Details: Carried out in-house repairing of 90 kA DC Isolator done (first time in Asia). Design and fabrication of spare parts (originally Ferraz) where made locally and successfully used for repairing purpose. This repairing was done online without taking shutdown of pot line and hence without affecting the production. This online repairing work was carried first time in Asia.

Modification of 15 MVAr X 10 Capacitor Banks
Team size: 3
Details: Total 150 MVAr at 25 KV Capacitor bank were installed. Modification of total 05 numbers of existing 5th harmonic banks to 7th harmonic filtration banks to avoid resonance and failure of inductor filters. Thus now new modified capacitor banks consist of 5 numbers of each 5th and 5 numbers of 7th harmonic filter banks.

Modification in load shed control logics and CILMS system
Team size: 8
Details: Successfully modified the Composite Islanding and Load Management System, ABB for:
Development of CSEB grid MVA control logic to avoid heavy penalty in case of sudden reduction in power plant generation
Installation and commissioning of CILMS new panel for smooth interfacing between existing CILMS and Rectifier micro SCADA for better control of pot line DC current (steps of 1 KA) in case of islanding to maintain plant frequency.

Reduction in High Current transformer tripping
Team size: 5
Details: Reduced the tripping of 135 MVA transformers from 17 (FY 2010-11) to 04 (FY 2011-12) through enhanced CBM, maintenance techniques and through:
Modification in inter trip logic of 25 KV Capacitor banks latched with 220 kV SF6 circuit breakers of transformers.
Transformer cooling system trip logic modification.
Effective Condition based monitoring, preventive and predictive maintenance, failure mode effect analysis, MTTR, MTBF and risk mitigations.

Grid Islanding and Load Management System, M/S SEL, USA
Team size: 10
Details: Worked as team member in project GILMS (Grid Islanding and Load Management System, M/S SEL, USA) for interconnection between 1200 MW power plant, 600 MW Smelter load and PGCIL grid. Functional Design Specification part successfully completed.
